“This year, there isn’t much we can do, but we hope that this experience will be valuable for the team in learning how to develop a car that can perform well even on tracks like Budapest and Barcelona,” Carlos Sainz explained. “We have aerodynamic problems in high-speed corners, where it is essential to maintain consistent downforce from the corner entry through to the apex, and that is exactly where we struggle. These difficulties have persisted for a long time, which explains why we perform well on long straights and tight corners.

“When we face sequences of high-speed corners, like those at Barcelona, Budapest, or Qatar, the car suffers significantly,” Carlos Sainz continued. “A profound change in our design philosophy will be necessary to ensure that next year’s car is more complete and capable of performing across different types of circuits. This is essential if we want to fight consistently at the front again.”
