Williams and Gulf reveal special fan-inspired livery for the F1 Brazilian Grand Prix. Williams and Gulf have unveiled a special “Driven by Words” livery for the Brazilian GP.

James Vowles, Williams boss, 2024

Williams will race in Brazil with a special one-off livery. In collaboration with Gulf, the British team has chosen to celebrate its global fanbase with a unique design that connects emotion and passion. Ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend, Williams and Gulf announced the “Driven by Words” project, a tribute dedicated to fans all over the world who continue to support the historic team.

The livery, set to make its debut at the upcoming Grand Prix, is a true mosaic of emotions and colors, made up of 493 words selected by fans from across the globe to express what Williams and Gulf mean to them. Each word was chosen to represent values such as heritage, passion, and teamwork — key concepts that define the spirit of competition and unity between the team and its supporters.

The initiative, first launched in July, engaged the team’s international community and collected more than 140,000 votes. Among the most popular words were “Legacy”, “Passion”, and “Teamwork” — all of which have been incorporated into the design, which combines Gulf’s iconic light blue and orange colors, symbols of style and history in the world of motorsport.

Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz will take to the track at Interlagos with the “Driven by Words” livery for the 21st race of the season — a campaign that has been Williams’ best since 2016 and a crucial opportunity to strengthen its fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship.

“This incredible campaign with Gulf has truly given our fans a voice,” said James Vowles, Team Principal of Williams. “Every lap in Brazil will be a tribute to their passion, woven into this beautiful design.”

Mike Jones, CEO of Gulf Oil International, added: “This livery has been created by our fans and their love for the Gulf brand. It marks a new chapter in our motorsport story, and seeing it on track will be a truly special moment.”

With “Driven by Words”, Williams and Gulf once again prove that motorsport is not only about speed and technology, but also — and above all — about the emotions and stories of those who live it with their hearts. Below you can find the official presentation video and photos of the new livery:
