F1 | Red Bull: Hadjar will partner Max in 2026. Racing Bulls with Lawson and Lindblad
Everything is now confirmed in Milton Keynes: in 2026, Isack Hadjar will replace Yuki Tsunoda. In Faenza, meanwhile, Liam Lawson will remain with the team and the highly rated Arvid Lindblad will make his debut.
The decision was postponed until almost the last possible moment, but today the announcement arrived right on time. Red Bull Racing and Racing Bulls have officially revealed their driver lineups for the 2026 Formula 1 season.
The Milton Keynes outfit confirmed what had already seemed clear for several weeks: Isack Hadjar will become Max Verstappen’s new teammate and will take a full-time seat in the future RB22.
The Paris-born driver will take the place of Yuki Tsunoda, who ultimately failed to convince the senior management of the multiple world championship-winning team, even after being given almost the entire 2025 season following his early-year replacement of Liam Lawson.
Six points-finishing results in the main race, for a total of 33 points across 21 Grands Prix. Far too little to earn a contract extension, especially when considering Red Bull’s 426 total points in the Constructors’ Championship—almost all achieved through yet another outstanding season by Max Verstappen.
Isack Hadjar, who is concluding his first season in Formula 1, impressed the team not only with the numbers (51 points and a podium at Zandvoort) but above all with his attitude, his aggression, his performances, and his remarkable ability to recover even after the dramatic mistake he made in Australia during the formation lap.
A driver with already impressive mental strength—and he will need it in 2026, because being Max Verstappen’s teammate demands absolute solidity in every respect.
Isack Hadjar’s move to Red Bull Racing has naturally opened up a seat at Racing Bulls. Red Bull had been preparing for this moment for some time, using various opportunities throughout 2025 to allow Arvid Lindblad to familiarize himself with Formula 1 machinery.
The British driver, who has Swedish and Indian roots, took part in several TPC sessions (tests of previous cars) at the wheel of Racing Bulls machinery, and he is now ready to make his debut in the Formula 1 World Championship. He is the driver chosen by Red Bull to take Hadjar’s place at the Faenza-based team.
