A Red Bull Formula 1 car has been photographed hanging dramatically on the rocky face of a mountain — and there is a direct link to one of the most recognisable figures in the current Formula 1 paddock.
Have you ever stayed in a hotel that proudly displays a championship-winning Formula 1 car? In Austria, this unusual experience is possible. All it takes is a visit to the Schlossberg Hotel in the city of Graz, where the owner, Helmut Marko — the long-time motorsport advisor and senior figure at Red Bull Racing — decided to suspend the Formula 1 car that Sebastian Vettel drove to win the 2010 World Championship title.
Mounted high on the rocky cliff behind the hotel, the display car faithfully reproduces the design, aerodynamic shapes, and iconic livery of the Red Bull RB6. Positioning the RB6 in such a scenic yet inaccessible location required the use of a large crane, as the chosen spot is both visually striking and logistically challenging to reach. The result is an impressive sight that perfectly combines two of Helmut Marko’s greatest passions: motorsport and art.
And this is not an isolated case. The prominent Red Bull advisor owns three other luxury hotels, and each of them houses a collection of Formula 1 memorabilia. Visitors can admire racing helmets, bodywork elements from Formula 1 cars, and other unique artefacts that reflect the deep connection between Helmut Marko’s career and the world of Grand Prix racing.
In total, across all his hotels, there are around nine hundred motorsport-related items on display, effectively turning the venues into a network of high-end automotive museums. For Formula 1 fans and motorsport enthusiasts, they offer the chance to enjoy an exclusive and unusual photo opportunity, making the experience as memorable as it is unique.
