Sergio Perez reacts to Max Verstappen’s farewell message: “I will miss you”. Sergio Perez responded to the farewell message posted on social media by Max Verstappen.

Sergio Perez, 2024 F1

Four intense seasons
Yesterday, Red Bull announced the departure of Sergio Perez from the team, after four years spent alongside Max Verstappen, closely witnessing the Dutch talent’s four consecutive World Championship victories. The pair experienced highs—such as the famous “Checo is a legend” from Max Verstappen during the Abu Dhabi GP at the end of 2021—and lows throughout their long journey together, but their relationship seems to have strengthened in recent times.

Max Verstappen, shortly after the announcement of Checo’s departure, had warmly bid farewell to the Mexican on social media. Sergio Perez quickly replied, subtly referencing Verstappen’s dominance, which in some ways cost him his seat. There was no bitterness from the Guadalajara native, only admiration for the work of the current #1 of the F1 world.

Destroy everyone
“Thank you, my friend, I will miss you,” Sergio Perez wrote. “Keep dominating.” The only one who might not appreciate this message is Red Bull’s newest acquisition—just officially announced—Liam Lawson. The young New Zealander will be tasked with the tough job of keeping up with the four-time world champion, hoping to bring the Constructors’ World Championship title back to Milton Keynes.
