Red Bull focused ahead of the United States Grand Prix
As the United States Grand Prix approaches, Red Bull has been fully committed to keeping both car and drivers at the right pace. With only six races left in the season, the team is still in contention for second place in the Constructors’ Championship, and the top spot in the Drivers’ standings.
GP USA: adrenaline and barbecue
Max Verstappen stated: “We made progress in Singapore; we’ve had a series of positive races recently and we want to maintain that momentum, hoping to do even better this weekend.”
The Austin circuit has seen the Dutch driver win three times consecutively from 2021 to 2023, while last year’s victory went to Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari, followed by his teammate and then Max. Clearly, Verstappen has a strong connection with this track.
“This week I returned to the factory to prepare on the simulator, and the team has worked hard. We analyzed where we can improve,” he continued. “On this circuit, it’s crucial to find the right compromise in setup between straight-line speed and aerodynamic load for fast corners, and the bumps can make things more challenging.”
“Austin is a fantastic city with great food, so it’s always fun to race here. It’s another Sprint weekend, so we need to be immediately on top because there’s less time to fine-tune the car, but it will be a challenge for everyone,” he concluded.
Yuki Tsunoda also excited for Austin and the BBQ
Max Verstappen isn’t the only one praising Austin and the local cuisine: his teammate Yuki Tsunoda is also looking forward to enjoying the classic Texas barbecue. “I’m really looking forward to this weekend in Austin. It’s always fun, very demanding off-track but enjoyable. I’ll relax with a classic Texas BBQ, but my full attention is on the track and giving my best this weekend.”
“Sprint weekends present specific challenges, which means the work you do in the car on Friday really needs to count. Since Baku, I feel I’ve gained real confidence in the car and things have started to work for me and the team. I’ve found a good rhythm. Singapore had its challenges, but here in Austin I hope this circuit will bring us back to the point where I was starting to get the best out of myself and the car,” Yuki Tsunoda concluded.
With Texas completed, there are still three Sprint races left in this season: the action is far from over!
