Red Bull rejects Max Verstappen crash theory: “The dumbest thing I’ve heard in a while”. Christian Horner strongly rejected Ralf Schumacher’s conspiracy theory about Max Verstappen’s crash,.

Ralf Schumacher ’s conspiracy theory
In his post-race commentary for Sky Deutschland, Ralf Schumacher scrutinized the incident between Max Verstappen and George Russell. According to the former German driver, the Dutchman’s move seemed suspicious, and he speculated that it may have been a deliberate maneuver to lose championship points in order to trigger a release clause in his contract.

As reported in recent days, multiple sources suggest Max Verstappen could switch teams as early as 2026, provided he is not in the top three of the championship standings by the summer break.
Such a scenario – that of a deliberate crash – is quite far-fetched, still unproven, and goes entirely against the spirit of the sport.

Red Bull’s response
Asked about it by Germany’s Bild, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner didn’t hold back in responding to Ralf Schumacher’s comments: “This theory is total nonsense. I haven’t heard something so stupid in a long time. Max is a racer to his core, he always wants to win and would never behave like that.” – the Red Bull team boss pointed out at the end of the Spanish Grand Prix.

It’s not the first time tensions have flared between Ralf Schumacher and Red Bull this season, with the two already clashing in a heated exchange in Japan.
