Red Bull is preparing its 2025 F1 line-up, and the first hint comes from Formula 2. The Milton Keynes team is ready to reshape its roster. Two seats are at stake: the first—and most coveted—is alongside Max Verstappen in the main team, while a spot at Faenza with Racing Bulls is also set to open up. The futures of Sergio Perez, Liam Lawson, Yuki Tsunoda, and Isack Hadjar will be decided in the coming hours.
The decision regarding Red Bull’s next line-up is undoubtedly one of the major topics of this off-season. Sergio Perez’s future now appears far from the paddock, or at least outside the 2025 grid. Despite repeated affirmations of the team’s seemingly unwavering trust in him, patience has run out. A generous contract termination deal is reportedly on the table for him.
Four drivers now hang in the balance, awaiting decisions from Christian Horner and his team. Beyond Sergio Perez, it is increasingly evident that either Liam Lawson or Yuki Tsunoda will move up to Red Bull. The New Zealander seems favored, but the test conducted by the Japanese driver in the RB20 may have shifted the dynamics. Meanwhile, Isack Hadjar also waits on the sidelines of Milton Keynes.
Changes in the Red Bull lineup: the clue about Isack Hadjar from Formula 2
What caught the attention of insiders in recent hours is the announcement of the line-ups for the feeder series. It appears that Isack Hadjar will not take part in the next Formula 2 championship. The Frenchman, who finished second in 2024 behind Gabriel Bortoleto—set to debut in Formula 1 with Sauber next season—has not renewed his agreement with Campos Racing.
Isack Hadjar has already assumed a role within the Red Bull family: in September, he was appointed reserve driver for both teams under the Austrian banner. Exiting the Formula 2 grid without a confirmed driving contract for the immediate future seems unlikely. This could, therefore, be a not-so-subtle hint of his promotion to Racing Bulls in 2025.
