Arvid Lindblad is preparing for his full-time debut as a Formula 1 race driver with the Racing Bulls team in the 2026 season.
According to an exclusive report published by Rossomotori, the young British talent Arvid Lindblad, born in 2007, will be a full-time driver for Racing Bulls starting from the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship. There had already been rumors circulating within the paddock regarding this potential move, but now, thanks to a source that Rossomotori describes as 100% reliable, it has been confirmed.
Who is Arvid Lindblad?
Arvid Lindblad began his motorsport journey in karting, where he achieved a series of impressive results at both national and international levels. His standout performances quickly caught attention, and in 2021, he was signed by the Red Bull Junior Team — the development program responsible for nurturing some of the top names in Formula 1, including Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel.
Thanks to the support of Red Bull, Lindblad progressed steadily through the junior racing categories. After gaining experience in Formula 4 and FIA Formula 3, he made his debut in the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2025, driving for the Campos Racing team. During his rookie season, Lindblad claimed his maiden victory in the Sprint Race at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia.
In June 2025, Arvid Lindblad successfully obtained his FIA Super Licence, a mandatory requirement for competing in Formula 1. Shortly after that, he participated in his first official Formula 1 session, taking part in Free Practice 1 (FP1) at the British Grand Prix held at Silverstone, where he drove the Red Bull Racing RB21 car normally piloted by Yuki Tsunoda.
To further prepare for his debut season in Formula 1, Lindblad also took part in a promotional filming day at the Imola Circuit, where he drove the AlphaTauri AT04 — a car used in the 2023 Formula 1 season by Red Bull’s sister team.
Will Arvid Lindblad become the next Max Verstappen?
Helmut Marko, Red Bull’s long-serving motorsport advisor and talent scout, has expressed strong confidence in Arvid Lindblad’s potential. Marko described the young driver as someone with “pure speed” and “remarkable mental maturity” — qualities that are rare at such a young age.
With the guidance and resources of the Red Bull Junior Team, combined with the valuable experience he has accumulated in the lower racing categories, Lindblad is expected to enter Formula 1 with a strong foundation. However, competing at the highest level of motorsport is a significant leap, and it remains to be seen how he will perform when racing against the world’s top 21 drivers.
In fact, starting from the 2026 Formula 1 season, the championship will feature 22 full-time drivers, due to the entry of an eleventh team — Cadillac. This expansion will raise the overall level of competition and make life even more challenging for rookies like Lindblad. With more cars on the grid, overtaking and recovering from the back of the field will become increasingly difficult, making every race even more demanding.
