Another rising star in the academy
The Red Bull Junior Team has long been known as a breeding ground for young talent, with several drivers nurtured under Helmut Marko’s guidance reaching the pinnacle of Formula 1. Among the most notable examples are Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, both of whom won world championships with Red Bull and helped the team dominate the Constructors’ Championship. In 2025, Isack Hadjar will make his debut with Racing Bulls, while in 2026, the Anglo-Austrian outfit could seriously consider British driver Arvid Lindblad.
Securing the Super License
Fourth in last season’s Formula 3 championship and set to make his Formula 2 debut this year, Lindblad recently clinched the Formula Regional Oceania title, with the series concluding its season this weekend at Highlands Motorsport Park in New Zealand. This victory is a major milestone for the 17-year-old, as it has earned him the necessary points to obtain the FIA Super License, allowing him to compete in Formula 1.
A debut in 2026?
As one of the most promising drivers in Red Bull’s current academy lineup, the Milton Keynes-based team could seriously consider his entry into F1, though most likely in 2026. Aside from competing in the F2 championship, Lindblad is still 17, meaning he is not eligible for an F1 seat until he turns 18 in August—unless granted a special exemption by the FIA.
His name has been circulating in the paddock for some time, and depending on his performance in Formula 2, Helmut Marko may see Lindblad as a strong candidate for 2026.
