F1 Saudi Arabia, Alpine back in Q3
For the second consecutive time, Alpine made it into Q3, once again with Pierre Gasly. After his standout performance in Sakhir, where he started from the second row thanks in part to a penalty for Mercedes, the Frenchman repeated the feat in Jeddah, securing ninth place in qualifying. Alpine’s improvement is also evident in the words of car #10, who was pleased but not fully satisfied with yesterday’s result.
Pierre Gasly’s words
“Overall, it’s positive that we managed to reach Q3 after last weekend in Bahrain. There were definitely some things we could have done better, which we’ll learn from for next time, because I’m sure we could have been higher than ninth,” said the Frenchman.
“The whole team did a great job and the package is good at the moment. We’ve put ourselves in a position to fight for points, which is obviously the goal. We’ll need a clean race in a tight field. We know where and against whom our race will be, with Carlos (Sainz), who is a few spots ahead.” – Pierre concluded at the end of the qualifying session for the 2025 Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Jack Doohan’s words
“It’s not the final result we wanted in qualifying, but overall I’m happy with the progress we made today after Friday’s tough free practice sessions,” added Jack Doohan, who was knocked out in Q1 and will start 17th.
“We made good steps between FP3 and qualifying. We improved things overnight, and I immediately felt the positive impact in the early laps of FP3, where I was much more comfortable in the car. The final qualifying result isn’t satisfying, especially since we were so close to reaching Q2. We remain optimistic and know that overtaking opportunities are better here than at other circuits. We’ll aim to exploit aspects like strategy with the ambition of moving up into the points.”
