Despite a 2024 Formula One season filled with ups and downs, Red Bull already has a match point to clinch the drivers’ title. If Lando Norris does not gain at least three points over Max Verstappen in Las Vegas, the Dutchman will secure his fourth consecutive world title with two races remaining.
This outcome, given the struggles faced by the RB20 in recent months, was no longer so certain. Despite a car that is no longer dominant, Max Verstappen managed to stay close to the McLaren driver, with the victory at Interlagos definitively closing the title fight.
An incredible comeback saw him move from seventeenth to first place, showcasing a talent that some had begun to question. “I think it was one of his best races,” said Horner regarding the Brazilian GP. “It reminded me of what Senna did at Donington in 1993. I immediately thought of that race.”
Horner Has No Doubts
Christian Horner then spoke about how Max Verstappen will be remembered, now on the verge of clinching his fourth title in Las Vegas. “After Interlagos, I think he’s very close to winning the championship,” added the Red Bull Team Principal.
“Certainly, the fourth consecutive title will place him among the elite of the greatest of all time. He’s driving at an incredible level and proves it continuously. Working with him is fantastic; every time he gets in the car, he gives his all. The great thing is that he still has the hunger for success and passion,” Horner concluded.
