Wherever he has gone, the Madrid-born driver has improved the performance of his teams—a fact that has consistently repeated itself over time. And Williams itself played a decisive role in their fortunes this past season.
The fifth-place finish in the Constructors’ Championship was widely regarded as above expectations. Several factors contributed: a car better suited to different types of circuits compared to its predecessor, and a strong driver pairing.
