F1 | Nico Rosberg launches new Apple TV show “Circuits in Focus” ahead of Miami GP
Apple TV has announced a new collaboration with Formula 1 World Champion Nico Rosberg for the creation of an original racing-focused programme. The show is titled “Circuits in Focus” and will air as a pre-race analytical feature ahead of Grand Prix weekends.
The format sees Rosberg seated inside a professional racing simulator, using the official EA Sports F1 video game. Through this setup, the former World Champion breaks down in detail the characteristics of modern Formula 1 cars and, most importantly, the circuits themselves, offering a unique perspective shaped by his experience at the highest level of the sport.
The goal is to provide viewers with a deeper technical understanding, driven by a genuine driver’s point of view, going beyond traditional broadcast commentary.
Programming and co-host
The first episode will debut on Thursday ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, and from that point onward the show will air regularly before every race weekend throughout the 2026 season.
Rosberg will be joined in co-hosting duties by Emelia Hartford, a well-known motorsport content creator.
Nico Rosberg expressed his satisfaction with the new project, explaining that Apple values his authenticity as an analyst: “I think Apple TV appreciates me as a very authentic expert,” said Rosberg, adding that “it was therefore a natural evolution for them to ask me if I would be available to produce original content together.”
He also highlighted his unique position in the current motorsport media landscape: “There is no one out there who has deeper knowledge than mine.”
The new programme is part of Apple TV’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Formula 1. Last October, Apple secured the television rights for Formula 1 in the United States for five years, in a deal reportedly worth around 150 million dollars per year.
Since beginning its coverage, including pre-season testing in February and up to the recent Japanese Grand Prix, Apple has averaged nearly 300,000 new subscriptions per race weekend in the US market.
Rosberg’s current role and future projects
Nico Rosberg is already well known to American audiences thanks to his role as an analyst for Sky Sports F1, which is also distributed via Apple TV.
He has also replaced Jenson Button as a pundit in the eighth season of “Drive to Survive” on Netflix, a series also available on Apple TV through a streaming partnership.
During the interview, Rosberg revealed he had expressed interest in a possible cameo in the sequel to Apple’s F1 movie starring Brad Pitt, which grossed over 630 million dollars worldwide.
“I left a message, but they haven’t replied yet,” he said with a laugh.
“Circuits in Focus” represents another step in Apple TV’s expansion of original Formula 1 content and further reinforces Nico Rosberg’s status as one of the most authoritative and versatile figures in modern motorsport, capable of moving from cockpit to simulator, from racing to investing, and now into television production.
