McLaren CEO Zak Brown goes crazy for Oscar Piastri: “I asked him what he eats because…”. Zak Brown praises Oscar Piastri's dominant performance at the Bahrain GP.

Zak Brown, Oscar Piastri, 2024

After Oscar Piastri’s triumph at the Bahrain Grand Prix, McLaren CEO Zak Brown celebrated the young Australian’s performance on Sky Sports F1. It was a weekend where everything worked perfectly for number 81, who managed every phase of the race with surprising maturity.

“Yesterday I asked him what he had for breakfast because we should all eat it!” Zak Brown joked, highlighting Oscar Piastri’s exceptional form. “He’s always competitive, but this weekend he was simply dominant. He had full control of the race from start to finish.”

The victory in Bahrain not only represented a personal success for Piastri but also confirmed McLaren’s growth, which now boasts one of the most solid driver pairs on the grid. Zak Brown also wanted to praise his teammate’s performance: “Lando had an amazing race, bringing home important points. It was great to see both of our drivers shine on a challenging track like this.”

There were also respectful words for the competitors, particularly George Russell: “George had a really impressive race. Mercedes was very competitive, which shows how high the level is this year.”

Oscar Piastri’s perfect weekend, combined with Lando Norris’s consistency and the car’s growing competitiveness, confirms that McLaren is no longer just a contender but the protagonist of the 2025 season. With a technical package that matches up and two drivers in excellent form, the Woking team looks optimistically ahead to the upcoming races.
