F1 | Verstappen will remain at Red Bull forever: CEO comments on his future

Max Verstappen and Red Bull seem destined to continue their journey together into the future. The Dutch driver has been part of the Milton Keynes team since 2016, progressing through the junior program under Red Bull’s close supervision. Over the years, many rumors have circulated, from claims that Max might leave if Christian Horner remained to more recent speculation about a potential move to Mercedes or another team in 2027.

Max Verstappen’s history with Red Bull is filled with success, as evidenced by his four consecutive world titles from 2021 to 2024. This period of dominance was interrupted only this year, when Red Bull appeared to struggle technically before recovering in the second half of the season. That temporary dip had even caused doubts for the four-time world champion, but now his future seems clearer.

“Verstappen will stay with us forever”

In an interview with De Telegraaf, Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff discussed Verstappen’s possible future: “It’s important to say that I’m not worried about any performance clause in his contract,” Oliver Mintzlaff said. “The most important thing for an athlete is to see that everyone in the team is giving their best for him. I think Max has been impressed by how the results and atmosphere in the team have changed this year.”

Some uncertainties remain about the next season, which could be crucial in shaping his future. Yet the CEO appeared confident: “Max always wants to win and to have the best possible car, and we want that too. As long as he feels that we are working toward this and doing everything possible, I think he will remain loyal.”

Regarding the upcoming season, which will feature a new engine formula, Oliver Mintzlaff added: “He also sees how much we have invested in our power unit. There is enormous mutual respect and loyalty. For me, there is no doubt that Max Verstappen will finish his career at Red Bull.”

Strong words from Oliver Mintzlaff, putting to rest current rumors about a potential Verstappen switch. But in the fast-moving world of Formula 1, anything can happen, so fans should stay alert for updates.

In summary, Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has firmly shut down rumors of a Max Verstappen exit, citing mutual loyalty and the team’s massive investment in the 2026 engine project. While paddock speculation persists, the leadership in Milton Keynes is convinced that the reigning champion will remain a Red Bull driver until the day he hangs up his helmet.
