Max Verstappen is back in action at the Green Hell. After voicing his frustrations with Formula 1 – particularly the 2026 season, which he finds unnatural and less exciting from a pure driving perspective – the Red Bull driver took advantage of a break in the F1 calendar for a continental European adventure. Verstappen is testing his skills on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, piloting a Mercedes-AMG GT3 from his own team, Verstappen.com Racing, during the second round of the NLS championship, a series that runs exclusively on this iconic track.
The race is a “mere” four-hour endurance event, but it promises to be crucial for Super Max to build confidence on one of the world’s most challenging circuits. The Nordschleife is notorious for rapidly changing weather conditions, with barriers frighteningly close to the track, almost like a street circuit. This event serves as a rehearsal for the season’s main highlight at Nürburgring, the 24 Hours race scheduled from May 14 to 17, during another F1 break weekend.
Live streaming the 4-hour Nordschleife race (Max on-board)
The official live stream and on-board video of Max Verstappen’s Mercedes number 3 – of course – is available below. The car hits the track in Red Bull colors, featuring a brighter blue livery reminiscent of the Milton Keynes team’s Formula 1 cars. The live coverage, starting at 8:30 AM on Saturday, March 21, has already thrilled fans, as Verstappen immediately claimed pole position with a time of 7:51.751.
The race begins at noon, with Max Verstappen sharing the cockpit with Daniel Juncadella and Jules Gounon, the same teammates who, alongside Lucas Auer, will form the Mercedes crew for the 24 Hours in May. In addition to Max’s on-board feed, the official live stream of the event is available in the box below for viewers.
This is not Verstappen’s first time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. After gaining experience in the simulator, last year he earned his “license” to race on the legendary Green Hell with a Porsche Cayman GT4, later winning a race in his debut with a Ferrari 296 GT3 just a few days afterwards.
Max Verstappen’s participation in the NLS 4-hour race highlights his relentless drive to master every discipline of motorsport. By stepping out of the high-tech world of 2026 Formula 1 and into the raw, unforgiving environment of the Nordschleife, he continues to prove that his talent is not limited to single-seaters. As the race gets underway, all eyes will be on whether the pole-sitter can translate his qualifying speed into an endurance victory at the world’s most difficult circuit.
