The LEGO Showrun held during the 2025 Miami GP featured all twenty Formula 1 drivers parading in driveable LEGO replicas of their cars—an initiative created to celebrate the partnership between Formula 1 and the famous Danish toy brand. Among the participants was Max Verstappen, who commented in his usual ironic tone: “It was fun… but once is more than enough.”
The Dutchman appreciated the initiative mainly for the chance it gave drivers to interact with each other and with fans: “It was nice to talk to the other drivers—we’re usually all separated. It was more fun than usual,” Max Verstappen told the media in Imola. It was an opportunity to strengthen team spirit in a paddock often divided by tight schedules and rigid protocols.
However, the four-time world champion didn’t hold back from highlighting the event’s limits, joking about his age as a pretext: “I’m 27, I don’t need to drive a LEGO car every time,” he said with a smile, adding: “I enjoyed it, but just once.”
The initiative also had a few technical hiccups, with some drivers crashing into walls or breaking parts of the LEGO car shells: “There were pieces everywhere afterwards, but overall it was a good show for the fans.”
Max Verstappen’s message is clear: creative events are fine, but don’t overdo it. The LEGO event remains a fun diversion, entertaining for fans and a light-hearted break in the weekend. Still, according to the Dutchman, it shouldn’t become a recurring thing—even though F1 has confirmed the concept will return at other race weekends.
