Max Verstappen and expectation that worries fans: “How many will fight for the title?”. Max Verstappen already has a clear idea of who the favorites will be in 2025 F1.

Max Verstappen, 2024 F1

In 2023, Red Bull delivered an almost total dominance, interrupted only by Carlos Sainz‘s victory in Singapore. After a chaotic 2024 season marked by the competitiveness of four teams, Max Verstappen believes that 2025 could see a dominant championship, with one team starting the F1 season as the clear favorite.

Max Verstappen shared his prediction for the upcoming championship, reflecting on the Bahrain tests and looking ahead to the Australian GP with a pessimistic outlook. Let’s take a closer look at the Dutchman’s words.

A Monotonous Championship Ahead
This is what emerges from the statements of the four-time world champion. When asked, “How many teams can fight for the title?” Max left little room for hope, given what was seen during testing. “At the moment, only one, and it has a nice color—orange (referring to McLaren, ed.). They are clearly ahead of all of us.” – the Dutchman pointed out.

How is Red Bull approaching the start of this season? Max Verstappen did not sound too optimistic, speaking of disappointing results in Bahrain but leaving the door open for hope. “We expected something more from the tests, but there is still time to analyze our data.”

The next stop is Melbourne, where teams will begin to reveal their true potential. Max Verstappen hinted that Red Bull is working hard to return to the top but made no promises. “There is still a lot of work to do, but like many other teams, we hope to see big improvements already in Australia. However, I don’t think we will be fighting for victory in Melbourne.” – the four-time Formula 1 world champion concluded.
