At Red Bull, the celebrations for Max Verstappen’s fourth world title are still ongoing. The Dutch champion has relished in the achievement of winning the World Championship again, despite not having the best car on the grid in the second half of the season. The disappointing results of Sergio Perez will likely prevent the Milton Keynes team from celebrating a third consecutive Constructors’ title, but this has not stopped the Red Bull leadership from honoring the talent of the #1 driver in the Circus.
Great compliments to Max Verstappen also came from Red Bull’s Managing Director, Oliver Mintzlaff, who was present in Las Vegas and was able to celebrate the mathematical confirmation of the championship by the four-time Formula 1 world champion. “For me, Max Verstappen is the best driver in the world, and he proved it even during the difficult phases of this season,” Mintzlaff said in an interview with Deutsche Presse Agentur. “He never lost sight of his goal of becoming world champion. If you want to become champion, you have to drive to the limit.”
The German manager also commented again on Max Verstappen’s legendary victory at Interlagos, achieved under heavy rain and starting from 17th on the grid: “It was pure talent, pure magic in extreme conditions,” he stated. “To emerge victorious at the end of a season so full of highs and lows demonstrates the excellence of Max Verstappen and our entire team,” he concluded.
