Matching Michael Schumacher? No, Max Verstappen has other priorities. Max Verstappen ahead of a significant milestone in 2025 F1 season.

Five in a row
If Max Verstappen were to win the world title at the end of the 2025 season, he would further cement his place in Formula 1 history. The Dutchman, who will celebrate his 28th birthday on September 30, would equal Michael Schumacher’s record of five consecutive world championships. Michael Schumacher achieved this first from 2000 to 2004, bringing Ferrari back to glory after 21 years since Jody Scheckter’s last triumph.

Competitiveness above all
For Max Verstappen, it would indeed be a significant milestone, but the Red Bull driver is currently focused on other priorities, as he stated on the *Talking Bull* podcast: “I’d like to win, yes, but it’s not about the goal of winning five in a row or the total number,” he explained. “I’m in a team that I think is capable of winning those championships, and I’m very excited about what we’ve prepared for next year. I hope it’s fast enough. I know that when it is, I’ll do the rest, but I just hope we’ll be competitive. I hope we’ll be up there again and that we can share many incredible moments together.”

For Max Verstappen, the challenge will be competing with a car capable of keeping him at the top ahead of increasingly formidable rivals. Last season, the Red Bull ace struggled more to defend his reigning champion title: “This season, as you’ve seen, was quite up and down,” he remarked during the FIA prize-giving ceremony. “We had a great start to the year; everything seemed perfect. I think that especially from the outside, as a team, you always understand your limitations and what you want to work on. The competitors did a great job; they improved their cars a lot and made things much harder for us, especially in the Constructors’ Championship. We had a bit of a tough time mid-season, but even under pressure and during tough moments, I believe the team stayed united. We didn’t panic, which could easily happen in such situations. In the end, I’m very proud of all team members. Of course, we’re not here as Constructors’ champions, but in a way, I think we deserved a bit more in that championship. I did my best, and we also know what we need to work on for next year. I’m very excited about this because it seems there will be a real fight among many teams.”

Which rival teams do you think might pose the greatest threat to Red Bull in the 2025 Formula 1 season, given Max Verstappen’s comments on the competition?
