An outstanding Carlos Sainz will start from third position in the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Here are his words after the qualifying session in Sin City.
The constantly changing conditions turned Las Vegas qualifying into a dramatic and unpredictable session, with Carlos Sainz finishing third in Q3. The Spanish driver for Williams confirmed his great skill on a track that saw him even reach the podium last year.
The former Ferrari driver’s words after qualifying
After the session, Carlos Sainz commented on his performance and shared his hopes for the race. “I’m always optimistic. Dreaming is free, and I always think I can do well. This track suits us, especially in the rain, and after FP3 we made a few adjustments to the car. On the intermediates, I knew they would catch me, but I’m happy,” the Spaniard said.
“It’s a bit like Austin here. The fans are incredible because they really support me. I think they love the underdogs like us, even if we are improving race after race. I wanted to give them a pole, but we’re not at that level yet,” Carlos Sainz added.
Of course, confirming this result in the race will be very challenging given the presence of the two Ferraris and Oscar Piastri in the midfield. Nonetheless, Carlos Sainz has already shown that he can compete with the top teams and will surely aim to do so again in Las Vegas.
