The Briton has better feelings compared to China
Max Verstappen pulled off a masterstroke in qualifying, beating the McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, and regardless of the weather, he has introduced at least one more variable ahead of tomorrow’s race, in which the McLarens will have to get past the Dutchman to replicate the one-two they achieved in China.
McLaren’s potential is clear to everyone, and it’s only natural that the papaya-colored team aims to maximize its result. Lando Norris is ready to go on the attack against Max Verstappen, a prospect that excites him: “No one knows what the weather will be like tomorrow, so there’s no point overthinking it. We’ll reflect on things tonight. It’ll probably be a race a bit like Melbourne, which was exciting for everyone, but I’ll have to overtake, so we’ll see. It’s exciting. I think the weather uncertainty will make the race exciting and nerve-wracking for everyone. I’ll have to try to overtake Max Verstappen.” – the British driver pointed out.
Lando Norris feels more comfortable here in Japan with the McLaren than he did in China: “I have more confidence in the front end and I’ve felt good all weekend. If this had been a Sprint weekend, it would have been fantastic for me. China was one of the trickiest tracks, but when we got here the car suited me much better.” – he concluded ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix.
