Kimi Antonelli is set to enter the Disney comic-book universe as Kimi Paperelli, with Formula 1 coming to Italy’s famous Topolino Magazine as part of the collaboration between Disney and F1. The Italian Mercedes driver announced the initiative on his social media channels, with the special releases beginning at the end of August and continuing through September.
From 2 September, Kimi Antonelli will appear in Topolino in duck form as Kimi Paperelli, with the first volume centred on the adventures of the fictional version of the Italian Formula 1 star. The choice of Antonelli is part of the wider collaboration between Disney and Formula 1.
Kimi Antonelli becomes Kimi Paperelli in Topolino
The Kimi Paperelli initiative will be divided across three releases. Alongside the comics themselves, readers will also be able to collect components for an exclusive Formula 1 x Disney model car.
The first part of the model will arrive with Topolino issue 3693 and will include the chassis. The remaining components required to complete the car will then be distributed with Topolino 3694.
The initiative gives Kimi Antonelli another unusual form of exposure away from the circuit during a major 2026 season with Mercedes, combining the world of Formula 1 with one of Italy’s most recognisable comic publications.
Topolino Formula 1 release dates and prices
The three planned releases, together with their respective dates and prices, are:
- 26 August 2026 – Topolino 3692 with the volume “Accendete i motori!” (“Start your engines!”), priced at €8.50.
- 2 September 2026 – Topolino 3693 with the first part of the collectible model, including the chassis, priced at €14.90.
- 9 September 2026 – Topolino 3694 with the remaining parts of the car and the special volume “Topolino Team Manager: Kimi Paperelli!”, priced at €10.90.
Disney and Formula 1 combine comics and a collectible car
The project therefore extends beyond Kimi Antonelli’s transformation into Kimi Paperelli. Across the three issues, Formula 1 fans will receive both comic-book content and the pieces required to assemble the special F1 x Disney single-seater.
The first release in the collection will be available from 26 August 2026 at newsstands, beginning the Formula 1-themed Topolino series before Kimi Paperelli makes his appearance in the following releases.
