The display case is safe: Isack Hadjar will receive a new trophy for third place at the Dutch GP
The Racing Bulls driver will now have a double memory of his unforgettable Sunday in Zandvoort.
The Frenchman will receive a new ceramic trophy
Isack Hadjar experienced a truly unforgettable weekend at the Dutch Grand Prix. He secured a place on the second row in qualifying and, thanks to Lando Norris’s retirement, he went on to celebrate his first ever Formula 1 podium finish. However, during the celebrations the Racing Bulls driver accidentally broke the delicate ceramic trophy that symbolized his third-place achievement. The cup snapped at the narrow ‘neck’ connecting the base to the upper part.
Isack Hadjar will soon receive a brand-new version of the trophy, so he can proudly display an undamaged piece as a lasting memento of his first Formula 1 podium. This milestone came after only 15 races, a record-breaking achievement for a Red Bull junior driver promoted to F1.
The Dutch GP organizers quickly reassured the Frenchman that he would not be left without a trophy. Royal Delft, the prestigious Dutch trophy manufacturer, confirmed that a replacement is already being prepared for the third-place finisher. A spokesperson for the Dutch Grand Prix organizing committee explained: “The trophies are made from high-quality ceramic and hand-painted by our master artists. Ceramic is a beautiful material, but also fragile: it can break if exposed to vibrations or unexpected impacts. In this case, the trophy was probably placed on an uneven surface. That can cause uneven pressure distribution, creating stress points in the middle or in thinner areas, which may lead to the material breaking. We will create a new trophy for Hadjar. It is not yet clear when it will be delivered, but we are working hard on it. The broken trophy will remain with Isack Hadjar as well. It is also a reminder of a legendary moment for him.”
