Thanks to consistent and solid performances, highlighted by his podium finish at Zandvoort, Isack Hadjar has emerged as a strong candidate to become Max Verstappen’s teammate at Red Bull in 2026. Some international sources have suggested that the French driver’s promotion is already confirmed, but Isack Hadjar did not want to confirm these rumors, emphasizing that he has not signed any contract for the upcoming season.

Isack Hadjar’s words

“I don’t know where I will be driving next season. I read the news and found it funny, because I haven’t signed anything,” he said in Baku. “Honestly, I couldn’t care less. When I’m in the car, I don’t think about these paddock rumors; I have other issues to focus on.”

However, the rookie’s hope remains a promotion: “The goal has always been to become a Red Bull driver since I signed with them, I think that’s quite clear. When will they make the decision? At the end of the season. I think it makes sense, because there are still eight races to go and I need to keep pushing.”

Looking ahead to the GP

Talking about the Grand Prix, Isack Hadjar believes he has the potential to achieve his third consecutive top-10 finish: “We don’t know if the track will be favorable for us or not. Last year it wasn’t, but for me there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be. Right now, in the midfield pack, everyone is very close; the margin between being out of the points and being on the podium is very thin. We can’t afford any mistakes and must be smart in our approach to qualifying, but I think the car has everything needed to score points.”
