Matteo Bobbi, a Sky Sport F1 analyst, shared his prediction for the 2025 season on the show *Race Anatomy*, discussing the teams vying for the title.
Matteo Bobbi’s Prediction
Here’s what the former driver had to say: “McLaren the favorite? I’m not 100% convinced, to be honest. I think they’ll start on equal footing with Ferrari. Red Bull, in my opinion, is a bit further behind. I think next year [the fight for the world titles] will be more between McLaren and Ferrari than any other teams. However, as I mentioned earlier, I don’t see McLaren as being favored over Ferrari, at least not at the moment,” Matteo Bobbi concluded.
Momentum Matters in Formula 1
While there’s no guarantee the Woking-based team will be in contention for the title next year, it’s worth remembering the power of momentum in Formula 1. Historically, teams that ended the previous season on a high note often began the following one strongly, especially in periods of regulatory stability. McLaren had—on average—the best car in 2024 but failed to maximize their results on several occasions. Will the experience gained this year help them stay at the top in 2025? Only time will tell.
