The goal is to inspire
Luca De Meo played the Flavio Briatore card to lift Alpine’s fortunes, and the move immediately produced visible results. The French team finished sixth in the Constructors’ Championship and secured an agreement with Mercedes for the supply of power units starting in 2026. Flavio Briatore stated that Alpine must be a title contender by 2027, and to stay on track with this roadmap, he began by making a simple change in the display of ‘objects’ in the lobby of the Enstone headquarters.
“Successful models stand the test of time. As a manager, I have to make sure that all team members understand what it’s about. Everyone must always keep the goal in mind. The past is part of the present. That’s why I had the world champion cars of 1995 and 2006 placed in the Enstone lobby and had last year’s car removed. On Mondays, our employees come into the factory, see the results achieved by this team, and are willing to work three more hours,” Flavio Briatore said in an interview with the German publication *Auto Motor und Sport*.
Flavio Briatore is convinced that the team has turned a corner, especially mentally: “I see a lot of progress. The mood and motivation are much better today compared to five months ago. Just look at the faces of people in the factory. There’s a completely different spirit compared to when I started. Employees are motivated by two things: money and success.”
