Gerhard Berger on Verstappen’s future: “I advise Max to look elsewhere”. Will Max Verstappen need to ask himself if Red Bull is the team to continue with in the future?.

Max Verstappen, 2024 F1

Will Max Verstappen need to ask himself if Red Bull is the team to continue with in the future? For Gerhard Berger, it’s possible. The former F1 driver, in an interview with Auto Motor und Sport, admitted that the four-time world champion should consider offers from other teams if his current team doesn’t allow him to fight for the championship: “Verstappen is the best driver on the grid, there’s no doubt about that. But before him, the best driver has to be in the best team.” – the former Ferrari and McLaren driver pointed out.

“However, for now, Max is taking the heat out of the fire. It will be exciting to see if Red Bull can return to its previous strength or if Max Verstappen will continue to face difficulties in winning. If that happens, he’d better consider other options and move to a team that will allow him to achieve more great successes; the choice will be crucial,” he concluded. Will Max Verstappen really need to make such a move?
