Logan Sargeant’s career in motorsport seemed to have reached its end, especially after his dismissal from Williams last year following the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. In that race, as well as in several earlier rounds, the American driver made costly mistakes that ultimately led to the termination of his Formula 1 contract after 37 Grands Prix with the Grove-based team. Williams replaced him with Argentine driver Franco Colapinto, while Sargeant returned to the United States to take part in several IndyCar tests. His next target became a seat in the European Le Mans Series for the 2025 season, with the longer-term goal of joining the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2026. However, in a surprising twist, he decided to retire from competitive racing before even starting the new chapter.
Now, less than a year after that decision, the 24-year-old appears ready to restart his engines. Confirmation came with the announcement that he has signed with Oliver Gavin Motorsport Management (OGMM), a British company specialising in the management of drivers and racing teams, founded by former professional racer Oliver Gavin. Gavin is a five-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a five-time champion in the American Le Mans Series, and a six-time winner of the 12 Hours of Sebring.
“New signing! – read the OGMM statement – We are delighted to welcome Logan Sargeant to the OGMM team. With solid experience in single-seater racing and at just 24 years of age, Logan joins OGMM to focus on building a future career in sports car racing. Logan already has endurance racing experience, having successfully competed in both the European Le Mans Series and the Michelin Le Mans Cup in 2021, where he secured pole position on his LMP2 debut. Welcome to the team, Logan.”
At present, however, the details of Logan Sargeant’s racing comeback remain unclear, including which series or events he will compete in. What is certain is that the partnership with OGMM signals a new chapter for the former Formula 1 driver, one that could pave the way for his return to top-level endurance racing in the near future.
