Confidence in Red Bull’s pursuit of another F1 Constructors’ Championship appears to be at an all-time low. While the Milton Keynes-based team aims for a third consecutive title, only a small fraction of fans believe Red Bull will manage to overcome the challenges posed by McLaren and Ferrari.
Currently, Red Bull trails McLaren by 40 points ahead of today’s Mexican Grand Prix, with Scuderia Ferrari just eight points behind them, leaving no assurances of even retaining second place, much less a path to victory. In a recent poll by RacingNews365, just 4.2% of fans backed Red Bull to secure the title once more.
The majority of respondents favor McLaren to hold onto their lead and secure their first Constructors’ Championship since 1998. However, with Sergio Perez and Oscar Piastri starting further back in the Mexico City Grand Prix, Ferrari finds itself in prime position to chip away at McLaren’s advantage—and potentially surpass Red Bull in the standings.
Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz starts from pole at the 4.304-kilometre Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, with his Maranello teammate Charles Leclerc lining up fourth after his amazing race victory last weekend in the United States Grand Prix at the Austin circuit. Should Max Verstappen win at the Hermanos Rodriguez racing track, the Italian side could still match Red Bull on points by filling the remaining podium spots—so long as Sergio Perez remains out of the points in his home race.
