Guenther Steiner enters the world of MotoGP: the adventure of the former TP begins in Tech3
Guenther Steiner is officially entering MotoGP, taking charge of a consortium that aims to acquire full ownership of the Tech3 team, with a key role in its future direction.
For Steiner, this marks the beginning of a completely new adventure outside of Formula 1. The former Haas Team Principal will lead a consortium whose goal is to take over Tech3, including its Moto3 operations. The new management will become fully operational in 2026, the year when Steiner will assume the role of CEO of the company. Alongside him, Richard Coleman will step in as Team Principal starting from the next season, replacing Hervé Poncharal. According to reports from MotoGP.com, Hervé Poncharal will remain part of the structure in an advisory role, focusing on the development and support of upcoming young riders.
It has also been confirmed that the headquarters of Tech3 will remain in France, in Bormes-les-Mimosas.
Guenther Steiner’s words
“This is a fantastic opportunity. Tech3 is a great team with huge potential and an impressive tradition. The impact of Hervé on both the team and MotoGP should not be underestimated. We are honored to take over and continue building on these foundations. We are also excited about becoming part of the MotoGP paddock, working to maximize the potential of both the team and this fast-growing sport, helping it to reach an even wider audience.”
Richard Coleman’s statements
“We approach this project with humility, recognizing the incredible talent and expertise that already exists within the MotoGP paddock. But we also have ambition. We are here to compete, not just to take part. At every level, with true passion for this sport. We want to connect with more fans and showcase the very best of MotoGP.”
The welcome from Carlos Ezpeleta
“It is a pleasure to welcome Guenther into MotoGP. We are experiencing a fantastic moment for this sport, which is growing and ready to accelerate even further. The legacy of Tech3 speaks for itself, as does Hervé’s contribution to the championship. This new era is set to strengthen it all even more. We are excited to work together on this journey.”
