Fernando Alonso continues to praise Max Verstappen and also discusses his weaknesses. Fernando Alonso has once again spoken about Max Verstappen.

After previously praising Verstappen following his achievement of a fourth consecutive world title, Fernando Alonso has once more commended the Dutch driver, while also touching on his perceived weaknesses.

Max Verstappen’s weaknesses according to the Spaniard
“Max has shown he has no weaknesses. He always does his job on Sundays, scoring so many points when the car is strong, but also so many points when the car isn’t good,” said Fernando Alonso.

According to Fernando Alonso, this consistency is why Max Verstappen managed to prevail in the drivers’ championship battle against Lando Norris, especially given Red Bull’s significant struggles with car development, which left them consistently slower than Ferrari and McLaren.

“And that’s the strength you need to win a championship, but you always think that if there’s a chance, maybe things could get tougher for him.”

The Spanish driver also spoke about the potential opportunity awaiting him in 2026 with the new regulatory changes, particularly with the arrival of Honda and Adrian Newey.

“It will be something very exciting to try, being in a position to fight for the world championship. At the moment, we’re not in that position, and next year will probably still be difficult. But I hope that in ’26, with the new rules, we’ll have a better chance to at least give it a shot.” – the former Ferrari and McLaren driver pointed out.

The two-time world champion is hopeful for one last chance to fight for the title, especially as age continues to catch up with him. Fernando Alonso’s talent is undeniable, but the younger generation of drivers is becoming increasingly stronger and will continue to make their mark in Formula 1.
