The Las Vegas GP weekend represents the first match point for Max Verstappen to claim the championship. After his overwhelming victory in Interlagos, the Dutchman has the chance to secure the fourth world title of his career with two races to spare.
The gap to Lando Norris, combined with the recent mistakes made by the British driver, allows the reigning champion to manage the finale of a season that has proven more challenging than expected. Indeed, at the start of the year, no one anticipated such a balanced and fiercely contested 2024.
The track, however, has delivered twenty-four fairly even and thrilling races, drawing fans even closer to a Formula 1 that is in constant growth.
Felipe Massa praises Max Verstappen
Ahead of the Las Vegas GP weekend, Felipe Massa spoke about Max Verstappen and his chances of clinching the title. “He’s now a complete driver. He has everything it takes, both in terms of speed and mindset,” the Brazilian said. “He only thinks about racing; he doesn’t care about the rest.”
“He’s driving very aggressively, even going beyond limits on some occasions,” Felipe Massa added. “Lando lacks this aspect a bit, though it must be said that this is the first time he’s fighting for a championship. He’s growing, and next year we could have a lot of fun.” – the Brazilian pointed out ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Regarding the title race, the former Ferrari driver has no doubts. “Max is number one. If I had his mindset, I would have won more in my career.”
