F1 track limits issue: Kevin Magnussen has no doubts about why there’s no gravel. F1 track limits remain a significant issue, especially on certain circuits.

Despite numerous controversies, track limits remain a significant issue, especially on certain circuits.

Organizers continue to seek solutions, including gravel, to minimize this issue. Nevertheless, track limits have been a major topic in recent race weekends, with controversies in the United States Grand Prix at the Austin circuit and Mexico City following battles involving Max Verstappen.

After incidents between title contenders, drivers requested a meeting with the FIA to clarify what is and isn’t allowed on track, aiming for fair and honest racing.

“Here’s Why There’s No Gravel”
Kevin Magnussen also weighed in during an interview with Viaplay. “We’re racing on s*** tracks. If there had been gravel, there would have been no controversy,” said the Danish Haas driver. “Better tracks need to be made than the ones we have now. With gravel, Max wouldn’t have attempted those moves.”

Kevin Magnussen then explained why gravel isn’t used more often. “There’s a reason. You can’t put sponsors on gravel, which is why it’s not used on tracks.”
