F1 | Red Bull line-up for 2026 still uncertain: Helmut Marko reveals when the announcement will come. Red Bull and VCARB have yet to confirm their 2026 line-ups.

Helmut Marko, Red Bull boss

The 2025 Formula 1 season is approaching its conclusion, and attention is already turning to 2026: what will the Red Bull and VCARB line-ups look like? The management of drivers in both teams falls under the leadership of the Austrian outfit, and currently, Red Bull and VCARB are the only teams yet to confirm their rosters for next year. Aside from Max Verstappen, all other drivers associated with Milton Keynes remain uncertain, with the possibility of a new entry for the upcoming season.

One name that has emerged is Arvid Lindblad, born in 2007 and a member of the Red Bull Junior Team. Currently racing in Formula 2, Lindblad is increasingly being considered for a seat in the premier category. Helmut Marko explained: “Lindblad is ready to make the jump to F1. He is only younger than Isack Hadjar. In the past, we have seen that age plays an important role in Formula 1. But in general, he is another one of our hopes. We will see him in the car again this year.” Indeed, Arvid Lindblad is set to take to the track as a rookie in Mexico, replacing Max Verstappen for the FP1 sessions.

Who could be replaced?

Currently, three drivers are at risk: Yuki Tsunoda, Isack Hadjar, and Liam Lawson. Helmut Marko acknowledged some strong performances from the Japanese driver but continues to keep him on edge, stating that Red Bull wants to see more from Yuki. Isack Hadjar, on the other hand, can breathe a little easier, as he has shown impressive results in his rookie season, which have also been recognized by the team leadership. “Isack has established himself and is currently enjoying his position. He has achieved incredible results.”

Marko did not comment on Liam Lawson, who faced a setback at the start of 2025 due to his demotion to VCARB. Another name that had circulated in recent weeks is a former McLaren driver, Alex Dunne, who was previously part of the Woking team’s Academy. However, the two parties recently announced their separation, making the Irish driver available on the market. Helmut Marko, though, dismissed these rumors, clarifying: “Dunne is not an option for us.”

When will the announcement come?

In conclusion, the Austrian consultant clarified when updates on the drivers for 2026 can be expected. “We will make our decision after Mexico.” Could Arvid Lindblad’s rookie session be decisive in shaping the line-up? Only time will tell as Red Bull and VCARB prepare for the next season.
