F1 | Pierre Gasly confirms commitment to Alpine with contract renewal
Alpine has placed full trust in Pierre Gasly, who has extended his contract with the French team led by Flavio Briatore. On the eve of the Italian Grand Prix, the team confirmed the contract renewal of one of its drivers: Pierre Gasly will continue his journey with Alpine. The French team, under the guidance of Flavio Briatore, has expressed complete confidence in him.
The #10 driver joined Alpine at the start of the 2023 season. Since then, he has secured two podium finishes and played a pivotal role in helping Alpine achieve sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship last year.
Gasly’s contract was due to expire last year. By signing this new extension, Alpine ensures that the French driver will remain with the team at least until 2028.
“The agreement reaffirms Pierre’s commitment to Alpine and consolidates Alpine’s confidence in him as a driver capable of leading the team into the new era of regulations in 2026 and beyond, under the leadership of Flavio Briatore and with the full support of the Renault Group, led by the new CEO Francois Provost,” the team said in a press statement.
Gasly stated, “I am thrilled to commit my long-term future to Alpine. As a Frenchman, and particularly as a driver for a French manufacturer, I am very proud. Since joining this team in 2023, I have always felt it was the right place for my future.”
He added, “The support and trust that Flavio has shown in me, Francois’ dedication to the Formula 1 project, as well as the people we have in Enstone, made this a natural decision. I want to be here for the years to come to achieve our shared goal: winning races and world championships. We are in this together, and I am excited to continue this special journey.”
