After a less-than-expected outing in Italy, Lando Norris and McLaren have arrived in Monaco with a clear objective: to win. On Thursday in Monaco, the British driver spoke again about the Imola GP, analyzing the performance of the MCL39 and its weaknesses.

Lando Norris’ Statements:
“This year we’ve been beaten many times. I think it still shows that we’re vulnerable in some areas. We still have things to improve, even though we’ve had some fantastic weekends where we looked dominant and were dominant. It’s clear we still have weaknesses, so we need to focus on the positives, but also try to work on those weak spots and improve. That’s F1, that’s everyday life in F1.” – he explained.

“I think it’s a good thing that every weekend brings optimism about the chance to win. Even at the end of last year, it was a bit like that. But this season, I think every weekend we go into, we want to win. We expect to win. Of course, we’re disappointed if we don’t.”

“But there have still been weekends where we’ve been beaten—for example, last weekend we weren’t as fast as Red Bull. So every weekend is different, you reset and try again. We know we have a strong car, which is important for a championship, but that doesn’t mean we’ll win them all, it doesn’t mean we have to win them all, but we still try.” – the British driver pointed out ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend in Monte Carlo.

“Is it fun to drive in Monaco? I don’t think so. I don’t enjoy it when I’m driving. But I think in Monaco you need so much focus. It’s hard to really enjoy a lap of Monaco until you relax and drive more slowly. The experiences have been special and I think every time you look back at a lap, that’s when you smile more than anything else.”
