There have been many rumors circulating about Max Verstappen. Throughout the 2024 Formula One season, much has been said about his future with Red Bull. With the inconsistent performance of the RB20 and the departure of key figures, including Adrian Newey, questions have arisen about whether the Dutch driver truly intends to continue his career in Milton Keynes.
Many believe that the three-time world champion is exploring his options, and Helmut Marko, who oversees Red Bull contracts, has publicly reminded everyone that Max Verstappen’s stay with the team is tied to certain clauses. If these conditions are not met, he could be released and free to move elsewhere.
Jordan: “Red Bull is still fast, Max needs to win the championship to stay”
According to former Jordan team owner Eddie Jordan, one of these clauses may be linked to winning the 2024 world championship: “Max can still win this championship. Red Bull has an incredibly fast car,” Eddie Jordan said. “I’m absolutely convinced of it. They need to rediscover that extra edge they’ve temporarily lost during the season.” – he pointed out, ahead of the United States Grand Prix in Austin.
In an interview on the podcast hosted by David Coulthard, *Formula For Success*, Eddie Jordan added: “Red Bull is playing with Max’s mind. I don’t know how much longer he will stay with the team. If they want to be sure he stays, they need to solve that small issue they’re dealing with and put him in a position to win the 2024 championship,” as reported by *GPBlog.com*.
If Red Bull manages to regain its performance and uphold the clauses in Max Verstappen’s contract, he will have no problem honoring the agreement, which binds him to the team until the end of the 2028 season, by which time he will be 31 years old (Max turned 27 on September 30).
