Clear goals at Red Bull
In Canada, Max Verstappen gained six points on Oscar Piastri, reducing the gap to 43 points behind the championship leader. In Red Bull’s plans, the comeback was supposed to begin in Barcelona, but in Spain, Oscar Piastri scored 25 points to Max Verstappen’s 1, pushing the Dutchman back to -49.
With 14 races still to go, everything is still possible, and Christian Horner, interviewed by De Telegraaf, stressed that he has no intention of giving up. The dream remains to match the record streak of five consecutive titles achieved by Michael Schumacher and Ferrari from 2000 to 2004.
“Do I still believe in the fifth title? Yes, even if it will be very difficult,” Christian Horner said. “Winning again this year is still our main goal. Only one driver has managed to win five championships in a row — Michael Schumacher. One thing is certain: we never give up. I’ve always been the kind of person who believes nothing is impossible. Otherwise, the team wouldn’t be where it is now and I wouldn’t be in this position. We have to keep developing the car so that it’s good enough to allow Max to work his magic. That way, we can keep putting pressure on McLaren.” – the Red Bull team boss concluded following the last round of the 2025 Formula 1 season, the Canadian Grand Prix, which was held at the 4.361-kilometre Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal last Sunday.
