On Friday, March 7, Cadillac F1’s entry into Formula 1 for the 2026 season was made official. Here is an overview of the key figures and organizations that will shape the new team:
TWG Motorsports: The Ownership Group Behind Cadillac F1
At the top of the structure is TWG Motorsports, the company leading Cadillac’s new Formula 1 venture.
TWG Motorsports is the motorsport division of TWG Global, a holding and investment company founded by Mark Walter, co-founder and CEO of Guggenheim Capital. TWG Global holds prestigious stakes in various sports entities, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chelsea F.C., and the Professional Women’s Hockey League.
This dedicated motorsport division was created to manage TWG Global’s growing investments in racing. Currently, TWG Motorsports supports the Cadillac F1 team, Andretti Global’s operations in IndyCar and Formula E, Spire Motorsports in NASCAR, Wayne Taylor Racing in IMSA, and Walkinshaw Andretti United Supercars.
Dan Towriss: CEO of TWG Motorsports and Cadillac F1
The CEO of TWG Motorsports is Dan Towriss, whose involvement in motorsport is relatively recent. Towriss initially made his way into the ownership structure of Andretti Autosport.
His investments enabled Andretti to begin building new workshop and engineering facilities, as well as to submit its first proposal for a Formula 1 entry.
However, conflicts between Michael Andretti, the team’s owner, and Formula One Management led Andretti to withdraw from the project. As a result, Formula 1 approved the entry of Cadillac F1 into the championship.
