On Sunday 26 April, the hypnotic roar of Formula 1 made its long-awaited return to Argentina. Franco Colapinto made history by bringing the sport back to his home country during a spectacular exhibition in front of an unprecedented crowd, estimated at around 600,000 people, filling the streets of Buenos Aires with passion and excitement.
As part of the event “Mercado Libre presents: Franco Colapinto Road Show Buenos Aires 2026!”, hundreds of thousands of fans gathered around the Monumento de los Españoles, where the Argentine driver delivered a stunning show at the wheel of the 2012 E20. He completed multiple high-speed runs, each one highlighted by dramatic burnouts, precise donuts, and emotional waves to the lucky supporters positioned closest to the action, continuing to inspire an entire generation of motorsport fans across Argentina.

“Wow! What an incredible feeling to be able to drive at home and especially to share this moment with so many fans! It is truly special to drive a Formula 1 car through the streets of Buenos Aires, it is without doubt one of the best days of my life. The affection the fans showed me was simply extraordinary. This event is dedicated to them and I hope they experienced the same emotions that I experienced,” he admitted.
