Audi CEO Gernot Dollner: “We aim to fight for the F1 World Championship by 2030”. Audi CEO Gernot Dollner outlines the German manufacturer’s ambitious F1 goals.

Audi F1

Although the 2025 season is still underway, Audi has already made waves by being the first team to unveil its 2026 livery. The German manufacturer, preparing for its historic debut in Formula 1 after taking over Sauber, will reveal the complete R26 car in January. The company’s plans for the future are ambitious and clearly defined.

Ambitions outlined by Audi CEO Gernot Dollner

Gernot Dollner, CEO of Audi, explained the team’s objectives and the broader vision behind the project. “By entering the pinnacle of motorsport, Audi is making a clear and ambitious statement,” Gernot Dollner said. “This is the next chapter in the company’s renewal. Formula 1 will serve as a catalyst for transforming Audi into a leaner, faster, and more innovative organization.”

The German manufacturer’s entry into Formula 1 signals not just participation, but a serious competitive intent. Gernot Dollner emphasized that while the goal is ambitious, it is achievable with patience and dedication. “We are not entering Formula 1 just to be present. We want to win,” he added. “At the same time, we understand that becoming a top team in Formula 1 does not happen overnight. It requires time, perseverance, and an unwavering willingness to challenge the status quo. By 2030, we want to be fighting for the World Championship title.”

Looking ahead to Audi’s F1 future

Audi’s F1 project includes developing its own power units and innovative car design. The company sees its Formula 1 entry as a strategic platform to accelerate technological advancement, enhance team processes, and strengthen its global motorsport presence. With clear goals set for the next five years, Audi aims to become a major competitor and establish itself among the sport’s elite, making the 2026 season the first step toward a long-term championship challenge.
