A new version on track
The post-summer break return of Formula 1 brings a small but exciting novelty for both racing fans and car enthusiasts. Starting from the Zandvoort weekend, a new Safety Car will make its debut. For several seasons now, the official safety vehicle—deployed by Race Direction whenever the race needs to be neutralized to manage a dangerous situation—has been shared between Mercedes and Aston Martin.
Today, the British manufacturer, together with the FIA, officially unveiled the new vehicle selected as the Formula 1 Safety Car. This is the Aston Martin Vantage S, replacing the previous Vantage model that first appeared at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. A brief technical overview was shared on FIA social channels and Aston Martin’s official website. The Vantage S features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 680 horsepower.
Updated aerodynamic features
As with all modern Safety Cars, the Vantage S comes equipped with several aerodynamic enhancements designed for optimal performance during neutralized race conditions. These include a redesigned rear spoiler and the FIA light bar, which ensure maximum stability and visibility while on track.
Expected debut in Zandvoort race
Considering the recent history of the Dutch Grand Prix, it would not be surprising if the new Vantage S makes its first official race appearance on the Zandvoort circuit. Fans can expect to see the sleek British machine in action, combining safety functionality with high-performance engineering that reflects Aston Martin’s commitment to both motorsport and automotive excellence.
