At Silverstone, the construction is almost complete: Aston Martin’s new wind tunnel is in its final stages of development. It will be the home of the 2026 car, which will be developed under the supervision of the newly arrived Adrian Newey.
One of Lawrence Stroll’s most important projects is about to come to fruition. At Silverstone, the new state-of-the-art wind tunnel for the British team is nearing calibration. Still not ready, the wind tunnel at Aston Martin’s headquarters has not yet been able to welcome the early model of the 2026 “green” car.
At Aston Martin, the team prefers to delay testing in the wind tunnel, waiting for their new facility, rather than relying, as in previous years, on Mercedes’ wind tunnel in Brackley. What is done at Silverstone remains at Silverstone.
When the new facility at Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll’s team is ready, Adrian Newey is likely to be ready too. The renowned engineer, who joined Lawrence Stroll’s team in recent months, will soon begin his work. According to circulating reports, the possible start date for the former Red Bull engineer should be Wednesday, March 5.
The Colchester-born engineer will primarily focus on the 2026 car, a crucial season that will introduce the new technical regulations.
