F1 – Is Alpine about to enter the world of luxury?
Alpine could be set for one of the most eye-catching transformations on the Formula 1 grid, with reports suggesting the French team may undergo a major rebranding from the 2027 season through a high-profile partnership with luxury fashion giant Gucci.
According to the speculation, the iconic Italian fashion house could become the title sponsor of the Enstone-based team, potentially leading to a new official identity such as Gucci Alpine Formula One Team, or a similar naming variation.
The team is currently competing as the BWT Alpine Formula One Team, with Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto behind the wheel, but BWT’s current title sponsorship agreement is reportedly expected to conclude at the end of the ongoing season. That would naturally create an opening for a new premium naming-rights partner.
For Gucci, part of the Kering luxury group, such a move would represent a major and prestigious entry into the rapidly expanding Formula 1 commercial ecosystem. A potentially crucial figure in facilitating such a deal is Luca de Meo, who reportedly became CEO of Kering in the second half of last year. De Meo spent many years as Renault CEO and played a key role in the evolution of the Formula 1 team, giving him deep familiarity with both the motorsport and corporate environments involved.
That connection could make discussions significantly smoother, should negotiations indeed be progressing behind the scenes.
The advantages for Gucci and Alpine
Gucci remains one of the world’s most recognisable luxury brands, and Formula 1 increasingly represents exactly the kind of glamorous global platform that aligns with the company’s premium image.
Through a partnership of this scale, Gucci would gain direct access to Formula 1’s rapidly growing international audience, particularly in strategically important markets such as the United States and Europe, where the championship’s commercial momentum continues to accelerate.
According to the reports, the fashion house sees Formula 1 as a powerful vehicle for strengthening global brand visibility and reaching a younger, affluent international audience increasingly engaged with the sport.
For Alpine, the benefits would be equally substantial. Such an agreement could reportedly inject tens of millions of euros into the French team’s financial structure, although the precise value of the potential deal remains unknown at this stage. Beyond pure funding, the partnership would also deliver enormous branding value, aligning Alpine with one of Italy’s most prestigious luxury names and potentially elevating the team’s global commercial profile.
Alpine’s official response
Asked about the reported collaboration, Alpine issued the following statement:
“Alpine F1 Team is constantly exploring new partnership opportunities and remains in contact with a wide range of brands and companies as potential partners. However, discussions are always kept confidential and are only made public when confirmed and agreed by all parties.”
While that response stops well short of confirming anything concrete, it does little to completely shut down speculation. If the deal eventually materialises, it would represent a significant evolution for Alpine — combining French motorsport heritage with the prestige of one of Italy’s most iconic fashion houses.
Such a partnership could open entirely new commercial opportunities, strengthen international visibility, and reshape the team’s public image from 2027 onward in one of Formula 1’s boldest branding moves.
