Williams tries to bounce back
After the unfortunate Formula 1 Grand Prix in Mexico City, Williams is giving it another shot in Brazil. At the start of the last GP, Alexander Albon was taken out by a collision with Yuki Tsunoda, while Franco Colapinto unsuccessfully tried to salvage his weekend after being eliminated in Q1. The Grove team heads to Interlagos (where it will still be in yellow and blue) with hopes of redemption, aiming for a solid result and increasing their tally in the Constructors’ Championship, where the team is eighth, 19 points behind RB.
Alex Albon’s comments
“Arriving in Sao Paulo for the last round of this triple header, we are ready for another Sprint weekend,” said the Anglo-Thai driver. “I can’t wait to drive on this iconic track, with all the unique challenges and complexities it presents. After a couple of tough weeks, I hope we can get back in the fight for P7 and provide some more excitement for the fans. The weather always plays its part here; let’s see what we can achieve as a team.” – Alex ALbon pointed out.
Franco Colapinto’s statements
“I’ve spent most of my life racing in Europe, so being able to race in South America this weekend marks a special moment in my career,” Franco Colapinto added. “Interlagos is as close as I can get to a home race, and the support from the fans during this triple header has already been incredible. I’m sure there will be many Argentinians who have traveled to be in the stands and cheer for me and the team over the weekend. Regarding my second Sprint event in three weeks, I now know what to expect, so we’ll try to make the most of the hour of free practice to get familiar with the track and understand the right window in which the car should be. We have two opportunities to fight for points on this iconic track, so we’ll do our best.” – the Argentine racing driver concluded ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend.
